Record-breaking rainfall hits Australia's east, with more to come

Much of Australia's eastern seaboard is experiencing wet and windy weather due to a front generating rain across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
The stormy conditions are likely to last until the weekend for some areas as Australia experiences an early blast of winter.

Heavy rain inundated parts of the state's North Tropical Coast in the past 48 hours, according to Weatherzone.
