This unlikely group of Aussies will take on the world's best padel players in Las Vegas

 In a twist of fate, Erin Purtle is putting together one of Australia's newest sporting teams. 

The Australian, who is currently based in Barcelona, Spain, says never in her wildest dreams she thought she'd be called upon to captain her country's padel team.

Dubbed as the world's fastest-growing sport, padel is a cross between tennis and squash and is primarily played in Europe and the United States.
